NCAA College Lacrosse Championships

This weekend, Memorial Weekend, our family will be traveling to Foxborough, Massachusetts to watch our youngest of 3 sons and his lacrosse team play for the NCAA Division II Championship at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. They have won the title 3 of the last four years and if they win this one, it will be three in a row.

It's a very exciting time for all involved. The lacrosse community is small and very close-knit, this team in particular. There are tailgate parties after all home games and the parents who come from all over the country, get to know each other and the players.

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the US right now and not as saturated as baseball or soccer. There are many more opportunities for high school student/athletes to continue their playing careers into college and alot of opportunities for scholarships. Our two youngest sons have been able to take advantage of this fact and it has immensely enriched their college experience.

And anyone with daughters--I have to tell you that girls and women's lacrosse is the hottest ticket right now. So if you're not familiar with the sport, try to catch a few games on television. Especially this Memorial Weekend, with all of the NCAA championships for the three divisions, there is going to be some awesome lacrosse played. We're rooting for the LeMoyne Dolphins! Go 'Phins!!!
